NumNinja uses Supabase as an optional backend service for global leaderboard functionality. When you create a leaderboard account (entirely optional), your username and public statistics are stored on Supabase servers to enable global rankings and competitive features.

What is synced: Only your username, user ID, and public gameplay statistics (total Math Points, rank, streak, accuracy, games played, and game-specific high scores) are synchronized to the leaderboard. No personal information, email addresses, or authentication credentials are required or collected.

Important: The leaderboard feature is entirely optional. All 40+ math games work completely offline without any account creation. Your local game progress is never transmitted to any server unless you explicitly create a leaderboard username and opt-in to sync your stats.

Optional Leaderboard Sync

NumNinja offers an optional global leaderboard feature where you can create a username to sync your stats and compete with players worldwide. This feature is completely optional\u2014the entire app works offline without any account.

What we sync: When you create a leaderboard username, only your public gameplay statistics are synced: username, total Math Points (MP), rank, streak, accuracy, games played, and game-specific high scores. This data is stored securely on Supabase servers.

Your control: You can delete your leaderboard account at any time through the app settings. The app continues to work fully offline without any account. No email, password, or personal information is required for the leaderboard\u2014just a username.

Data Sharing & Third-Party Access

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or learning information to third parties. Your game progress and educational data remain private and stored locally on your device.

Third-Party Services:

• Supabase (Optional): Backend for global leaderboards - only syncs public stats when you create a username
• No advertising networks: NumNinja contains no ads and does not share data with advertisers
• No analytics tracking: We do not use third-party analytics services to track your usage

Your data privacy: All your learning data, game progress, and personal statistics remain on your device unless you explicitly opt-in to the optional leaderboard feature.

Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

NumNinja is designed as an educational math learning app suitable for children. We take children's privacy seriously and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The app stores all learning data locally on the device with no required account creation or personal information collection.

No Personal Information Required: Children can use all 40+ math games without providing any personal information. The optional leaderboard feature only requires a username (no email, age, or personal details) and is not necessary for gameplay.

Parental Guidance: We recommend parents supervise their children's device usage and screen time. Parents can review game statistics and progress data stored locally on the device.

Educational Purpose & Disclaimer

NumNinja is an educational tool designed to help children develop math skills through engaging games. While we strive to provide accurate and beneficial educational content, the app is not a substitute for formal education or professional tutoring.

Educational Disclaimer: NumNinja provides supplementary math practice and should be used alongside school curriculum and traditional learning methods. Progress in the app does not guarantee academic performance. Parents and educators should monitor children's usage and progress.

The app's difficulty assessments and recommendations are based on algorithmic analysis and may not reflect a child's complete mathematical ability. For comprehensive educational assessment, consult with qualified educators.

Data Protection Compliance

We comply with applicable data protection regulations including GDPR for users in the European Union, COPPA for children in the United States, and CCPA for users in California. You have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide our services or as required by law. You can delete individual game sessions, clear progress history, or completely delete your entire account and all associated data at any time through the app settings.

Data Storage Duration:

• Learning Data: Stored locally until you delete it or uninstall the app
• Cloud Synced Data: Stored until you delete your account or disable sync
• Account Data: Deleted when you sign out and clear app data
• Analytics Data: Anonymized and retained for app improvement (no personal identifiers)

When you delete your data or uninstall the app, all locally stored information is permanently removed from your device. Synced data must be deleted separately through account settings.

Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal and learning information:

By using cloud sync features, you consent to the transfer of your data to secure servers, which may be located outside your country of residence. We comply with applicable data protection frameworks including EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
