Limitations & Disclaimers

Important information about the limitations of SugarMate and your responsibilities as a user.

Medical Device & Healthcare Disclaimer

SugarMate is a health tracking application, not a medical device. It should never replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult with qualified healthcare professionals for medical decisions. The app's analytics and recommendations are for informational purposes only and should not be used for immediate medical decisions.

Data Accuracy & Validation Responsibility

While SugarMate includes data integrity validation and input checking, you are ultimately responsible for the accuracy of health information you input. The app's analytics, correlations, and trends are based on the data you provide. Always verify critical health information with your healthcare provider.

Local Storage Architecture & Limitations

SugarMate stores all data locally on your device with encryption and security measures. Data loss may occur due to device failure, app uninstallation, system resets, or storage corruption. We strongly recommend regular device backups and data exports for important health information.

Third-Party Service Dependencies

Some features rely on third-party services for advertisements, notifications, backup services, and device functionality. These services have their own terms, privacy policies, and limitations beyond our control. Functionality may be affected by changes to these external services.

Network, Performance & Device Limitations

While core diabetes tracking features work completely offline, certain functions like advertisements, app updates, or cloud backup require internet connectivity. App performance may vary based on device specifications, available storage space, and system resources.

Age & User Eligibility Restrictions

SugarMate enforces minimum age validation and is intended for adults 18 years and older. The app's health recommendations and analytics are calibrated for adult diabetes management. Parental supervision is required if used by individuals under 18, and consultation with healthcare professionals is strongly recommended for youth diabetes management.
